Responsibilities and day-to-day activities.



We are looking for an estimator to join the team who will play a vital part in continued business growth by undertaking the following tasks:

1. Calculate time, materials and other costs and prepare estimates for specialist cleaning and painting works which would take place in various environments nationwide such as on construction sites, industrial buildings and in public spaces - this will be done using photos, drawings, specifications and site visits as required.

2. Review on-going and completed project financials ensuring works have been completed on budget and billing accuracy as per your estimates and ensuring the business is achieving the required margin on any ongoing contracts.

4. Negotiate terms and conditions with clients and support our Contracts Manager with commercial matters throughout project life cycles, this includes authorising sales invoices and ensuring customers pay in full and on time.

5. Financial/commercial support with negotiating T&C's with suppliers, authorising subcontractor payments, assessing commercial viability and dealing with pricing for other non-work related business suppliers such as business subscriptions ensuring the business remains efficient and profitable.

Where and how you will fit in our team?



You will sit in the middle by being supported by our marketing and department who will provide you with a flow of contract leads in which you will provide estimates for and by doing so you will support out Contracts Manager with new contracts to manage. We then have our operations teams which consist of our General Manager, supervisor, project leads and technicians who all work together to get the job done on sites.

Essential skills;



Super organised and on the ball, taking action of things that need doing without delay Proficient administration and IT skills such as using spreadsheets and all other microsoft packages including sharepoint Ideally some practical knowledge and experience on how things work on site so you know what to allow for in your estimates - things like working methods/how long to allow for certain tasks, knowledge of things that could impact a job getting done within a certain time frame so you can put measures in place within your estimates to de-risk out teams going over budget, experience of working at height systems and working in public places and on busy construction sites. Our Managing Director is very experienced with this knowledge however, to be self sufficient in this role you will need to become an expert and the rate of pay is dependant on how self sufficient you can be. Strong financial accuracy skills with attention to detail, some knowledge in financial systems would be beneficial such as XERO. Excellent communication, written and verbal.

The working hours for the role will be 7:30am until 4:00pm Monday to Friday inclusive of a 30-minute lunch break and the location of work will be from Unit 4 Lendal Court, Nottingham NG7 4EZ.
