National Integrated Services Ltd (NIS FM Support) is a growing Facilities Management Support and refurbishment contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality reactive, planned, and refurbishment works across multiple sectors.
We predominantly work with Facilities Management companies, providing services across building maintenance, cleaning, grounds maintenance, pest control, waste and projects. Following the successful delivery of several large-scale renovation projects and continued business growth, we are now expanding our commercial team to support larger tenders and long-term contracts.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced
Estimator
to join our commercial team, based at our newly renovated head office and warehouse in Barking. You will work closely with the Business Development Manager and operational leads across soft and hard services to support pricing, tendering, and value engineering activities.
This is a predominantly office-based role, with site visits as required.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for refurbishment and planned maintenance projects
Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to produce detailed take-offs and pricing
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain and evaluate competitive quotations
Support commercial tenders, re-tendering, and benchmarking exercises
Contribute to value engineering and cost-saving initiatives
Identify commercial risks and opportunities within tender submissions
Work collaboratively with planning, design, and delivery teams to ensure robust estimates
Attend tender reviews and presentations with senior management
Assist in developing estimating systems, templates, and best practices
About You
You will be commercially astute, detail-oriented, and confident working across multiple tenders simultaneously.
Essential experience and skills:
Minimum
5 years' estimating experience
in refurbishment or construction
Good all-round knowledge of building maintenance services
Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
Full driving licence (UK or non-UK acceptable)
Desirable:
Construction or Quantity Surveying qualification (HNC/HND/Degree)
Experience working with Facilities Management clients
