We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Estimator with Quantity Surveying experience to join our dynamic team based in Buckley North Wales. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who combines strong technical estimating capability with sound commercial and contractual awareness. Key Responsibilities
Analyse project specifications, drawings, and supporting documentation to produce accurate and robust cost estimates
Undertake detailed measurement and "take-offs" from design drawings, preparing Bills of Quantities where required
Collaborate with commercial, engineering, and delivery teams to ensure tender submissions are technically compliant and commercially sound
Prepare detailed tender cost build-ups, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to strict submission deadlines
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and work closely with procurement and our suppliers to support successful tender outcomes and future opportunities
Support the transition from tender stage to project handover, ensuring clear communication of pricing assumptions, risks, and commercial strategies
Working Closely with our commercial manager to:
Monitor market conditions, material prices, labour rates, and supply chain trends to maintain current and competitive pricing
Identify and assess commercial risks and opportunities within estimates, providing value-engineering and risk mitigation proposals
Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating and commercial processes, systems, and procedures
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 3 years' experience in the construction industry, ideally within the Fire remediation / Cladding along with general building & maintenance.
Proven experience in an estimating role with (QuantitySurveying or commercial background would be desirable but not essential)
Working knowledge of the (JCT / NEC suite of contracts desirable )
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documentation
Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
Experience using estimating and commercial software (or the ability to quickly adapt to new systems)
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with confidence presenting commercial and technical information
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tenders simultaneously
Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (desirable)
Full Clean Driving License.
