Estimator

to join our team.

Role Overview

As an Estimator at PJH Co, you will play a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates and quotations for projects across our divisions. You will liaise with engineers, suppliers, and customers to ensure competitive pricing and precise proposals that meet both client requirements and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for plumbing, heating, and multi-trade projects. Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates. Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing. Prepare and submit customer quotations within agreed timescales. Work closely with project managers and engineers to ensure estimates reflect project requirements. Maintain and update records of estimates, quotations, and supplier pricing. Support the wider team with tender submissions and budget planning.

Requirements:

Previous experience in an Estimator role (ideally within construction, M&E, or building services). Strong knowledge of plumbing, heating, or M&E works is required. Excellent attention to detail and numerical skills. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel in particular). Previous use of Trimble / Simpro (Desirable) Organised and able to manage multiple estimates at once.
