Job Description

National Timber Group are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Doorset Estimator to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for door sets, ensuring all specifications, materials, and labour costs are carefully considered.

This role requires strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively with sales, production, and procurement teams.

Duties will include:



Reviewing the customers documentation and acknowledging receipt of Quotation Requests Analyse project specifications, drawings, and tender documents to determine cost estimates Create a quote or estimate for the customer in line with the expectation of our Business Development Team. Create accurate production schedules ready for incorporating into our manufacturing system. Have the ability to price from their own initiative, using our company cost book and making value engineered options available to the customer where appropriate. Work closely with sales and project management teams to ensure estimates align with company objectives and client expectations. Prepare accurate and detailed cost breakdowns, including materials, labor, and manufacturing expenses

Preferred Skills



Ideally trained to diploma level with the Guild of Architectural ironmongers. Not essential but should be willing to work towards. Trained to diploma level with the Fire Door Alliance, or associated trade body. Ideally some experience of RTIS (Real Time Information Systems) Experience of Door Scheduling Ability to be flexible & support other business areas - door kits, timber pricing

Education and Experience



Previous experience of Door Estimating within the internal commodity and bespoke market needed. Need to demonstrate good customer communication skills, by email and phone. A good working knowledge of Microsoft packages. Must have good attention to detail, a methodical approach and be able to work under their own initiative to a deadline. Strong numeracy skills.
