Estimator
to our expanding team.
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-focused
Estimator
to support the tendering and pre-construction process across multiple projects. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, liaising with suppliers and subcontractors, and ensuring deadlines are met in a fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse architectural drawings, specifications, and project information to produce accurate cost estimates
Prepare bills of quantities or take-offs from drawings
Issue and manage enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers
Evaluate received quotes and negotiate best value
Compile and submit tender documentation within deadlines
Identify and assess project risks and value engineering opportunities
Work closely with directors, project managers, and the commercial team to hand over successful tenders
Maintain and update estimating databases and records
Requirements
Minimum 3 years' experience in an Estimator role within the construction industry
Strong understanding of building methods, materials, and regulations
HNC, HND, or relevant construction qualification preferred
Excellent analytical and numerical skills
Confident in reading technical drawings and preparing detailed take-offs
Proficient in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of estimating software (e.g., ConQuest, Causeway, or similar) is an advantage
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
Full UK driving licence preferred
