Job Overview

We are seeking Estimator to join our busy and growing estimating team. The Estimator will play a crucial role in the preparation and submission of cost estimates for various projects. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control and the ability to analyse project specifications and requirements effectively. The ideal candidate will possess excellent mathematical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. All career levels considered.

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate cost estimates for projects by analysing drawings, specifications, and other documentation. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for estimating purposes. Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather relevant data. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing. Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. Identify potential risks and provide recommendations for cost control measures. Assist in preparing bid proposals and presentations for clients. Maintain detailed records of estimates, including methodologies used and assumptions made.

Requirements

Proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the construction or manufacturing industry. Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices. Excellent numerical skills with a keen eye for detail. Proficient in using estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly. A relevant degree or qualification in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
