Job Summary



We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented EV Homologation and Regulatory Compliance Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the certification and compliance process for our BEV propulsion systems, with a special focus on post-certification changes. This role is vital for ensuring our products meet all national and international regulatory standards, from initial development through to market entry and beyond.Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Analysis and Strategy

: Interpret and analyze global automotive regulations (e.g., UNECE, FMVSS, ISO) and assess their impact on vehicle systems, particularly those related to battery safety (UNECE R100, FMVSS No. 305a, GTR No. 22), charging systems (ISO 15118, IEC 61851), and EMC standards (UNECE R10).

Post-Certification Change Management

: Lead the process for assessing and documenting changes made to BEV propulsion systems after initial certification. This includes conducting risk assessments and ensuring all modifications comply with relevant regulations.

Documentation and Reporting

: Develop comprehensive summary slide packs and reports detailing all calibration and system changes for regulatory review and internal communication. Maintain ownership of all homologation paperwork and compliance documentation.

Cross-Functional Liaison

: Act as the primary technical point of contact for regulatory bodies, legal teams, and internal engineering departments. Ensure consistent understanding and implementation of regulatory requirements across all relevant stakeholders.

Technical Compliance Support

: Work with engineering teams to translate regulatory requirements into actionable design and validation parameters. Provide expert guidance during the development process to ensure designs are compliant from the outset.

Continuous Improvement

: Proactively monitor for upcoming changes in legislation that may impact vehicle type approvals. Develop and publish communication and timing schedules for legislation-led design changes.

Test and Certification Coordination

: Coordinate with internal test teams and external certification bodies to execute necessary testing and submit the correct paperwork for certification and homologation activities.

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automotive Engineering. Proven experience in automotive homologation and regulatory compliance, particularly for electric vehicles. In-depth knowledge of relevant EV propulsion regulations, including those concerning battery safety, charging standards, and EMC. Strong experience in interpreting and applying automotive regulations in a technical engineering context. Excellent technical writing and presentation skills, with a proven ability to create clear and concise documentation. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities. Experience with risk assessment methodologies and problem-solving within a regulated environment.

Additional Skills



Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., JIRA). Experience representing their company in regulatory discussions. A strong understanding of systems engineering principles.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: 31.20-39.25 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
