Purpose of the position:



To provide high quality home care services that support the rights of Clients to live the lives they choose as far as they are able. Responsible for the continuity of care for Clients, ensuring all visits are one time and to the highest quality.

Main Duties



Providing companionship and building relationships Assisting with personal care (showering, bathing, toileting) Aiding with mobility around the home and outings Administering medication Light housework and food shopping Develop and follow care plans tailored to each client's needs, ensuring that all aspects of their care are addressed. Assist with mobility and physical exercises as directed by healthcare professionals. Respond promptly to client needs and emergencies, employing first aid techniques when required. Document daily activities and any changes in client condition accurately.

Other Responsibilities



Positive working relationship with management team, Caregivers, clients and any other persons involved in the care and support of an individual Attend Staff Meetings as scheduled, as and when required. Support the effective resolution of team conflicts. Support a work atmosphere which promotes a high quality of work life. Support and maintain a culture of performance and excellence.

Experience / Knowledge



Experience in adult residential services / care An understanding of the Care Act, CQC's Essential Standards and other relevant standards An understanding of the uniqueness of providing a tailored home care service An understanding of health and safety and data protections requirements and legislation

Requirements



Previous experience in senior care, assisted living, or hospice care is preferred but not essential. Knowledge of medication administration and first aid practices is advantageous. Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others are crucial traits for this role. Ability to follow care plans meticulously while being flexible to adapt to changing client needs. Must be physically capable of assisting clients with mobility and personal care tasks. A valid driver's license may be required depending on the location of service provision.
