ABOUT THE ROLE


We are looking for a reliable and proactive Studio Assistant to join our team on a zero-hour contract basis. This is an in-person role that requires you to be onsite in our studio during all types of bookings, including photoshoots, private events, and creative hires.

As a Studio Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for clients in the space, ensuring their experience runs smoothly from start to finish. The role is varied, hands-on, and ideal for a motivated student or graduate who is local to the Canning Town area and can commit to weekend availability.

Key Responsibilities



Conduct client inductions: walk clients through the studio space, explain how to use the facilities and equipment, and outline studio policies (set-up, use, and leaving the space). Reset and organise the studio between bookings, tailoring the space to the client's needs. Be familiar with photography studio equipment and assist with basic set-up and troubleshooting. Report any client-related or studio-related issues directly to the Studio Manager. Monitor studio stock levels (e.g. paper backdrops, toilet paper, shoe covers, bin bags) and flag when items need replenishment. Ensure the space is maintained to a high standard, proactively identifying and reporting maintenance issues. Liaise with the Studio Manager for ongoing tasks, updates, and client feedback.

Requirements



Weekend availability is essential

- applicants unable to work weekends will not be considered. Previous experience working in a studio, event space, or customer-facing environment. Strong communication skills and ability to deal confidently with clients. Organised, reliable, and able to work well both independently and in a team. A proactive attitude with attention to detail. Must live locally to Canning Town or have an easy commute to the studio.

Contract Details



Zero-hour contract (minimum 4 hours per week). Hours may range anywhere between 9:00am and 11:00pm, depending on bookings in the studio and this varies every week. Hourly rate: 12.50 per hour
