Overview


Based at our UK office in crew you will assist in the preparation, maintenance, installation, calibration and operation of Seiko systems to support the delivery of timing, measurement and data services at national and international sporting events. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Seiko team on a full time permanent contract.

This role will involve extensive overseas travel.

Duties



Key responsibilities undertake the preparation, testing, installation and configuration of Seiko systems prior to major events including unloading equipment, rigging network infrastructure, calibrating key systems and performing pre event checks. Take a role supporting a team of technicians at events, acting as a central point of focus for any queries and offering support to troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues. Liaising with competition officials, volunteers, athletes, staff and other key stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of services. Calibration, maintenance and operation of secure timing measurement and data systems before during and after competition. Efficient and safe de rigging and load out of equipment post event. Completing any fault or escalation reports post event and following through to ensure resolution. Assist in warehouse operations including inventory management, organization and equipment storage. Assist in planning and executing hardware upgrades and software on systems between events to optimize performance.

Ideal experience



Experience delivering technical services at major televised sporting events. A quick learner with exceptional problem solving skills A sports enthusiast, and a particularly keen knowledge of athletics. Ability to work both independently and part of a wider team under pressure. Flexible to unusual working patterns and willing and able to travel internationally. Highly adaptable in a high pressure live event/ broadcast environment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Desirable - educated in a stem area eg: computer science, engineering, sports science etc

Essential



A high level of computer literacy with detailed understanding in one or more of the following areas :

Experience installing and maintaining computer networks. Experience calibrating and operating camera based measurement systems, eg: motion capture systems, photo finish timing systems. Experience calibrating & operating timing and wearable systems eg: global/ local positioning systems, IMU's, chip based timing systems. Experience installing and operating led display screens Experience or an understanding of electrical engineering.

Pay range and compensation package



30,000-35,000pa
