proactive and driven leader

to join our team as an

Event Logistics & Distribution Manager

. This role is ideal for someone who wants to

grow within the company

, take ownership of operations, and

lead by example

This is a

hands-on management role

, meaning the successful candidate will not only oversee staff and logistics but also be

actively involved

in event preparation, loading, deliveries, and on-site installations. As the company expands, the role will develop, and the right candidate must be flexible and ready to adapt.

The Role - Lead from the Ground Up



The successful candidate will manage our

logistics, warehouse, and distribution operations

while also working alongside the team to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Full training will be provided

to develop the right candidate in our methods and equipment.

Key Responsibilities



Team Leadership & Supervision

- Manage, train, and coordinate the logistics and installation team to ensure smooth operations.

Logistics & Scheduling

- Plan and optimise delivery routes for

dry hires and full-service event setups

.

Warehouse & Inventory Management

- Oversee stock control, maintain suitable inventory levels, and ensure good housekeeping standards.

Hands-On Work

- Assist with

picking, loading, delivering, and installing event equipment

, including marquees, furniture, and staging.

Client Communication

- Liaise with clients on-site, ensuring high service standards and resolving any logistical challenges.

Fleet & Equipment Management

- Drive and oversee the responsible operation of

3.5t+ vans, pick-up trucks with trailers

, and other vehicles.

Health & Safety Compliance

- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards and conduct regular safety checks.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

- Track productivity, report on distribution efficiency, and suggest process improvements.

Order Management

- Check picking notes, ensure order accuracy, and coordinate deliveries.

Cost Management & Efficiency

- Monitor and control costs related to

transport, equipment maintenance, stock levels, and staffing

, ensuring operations remain efficient and within budget.

Daily Coordination

- Work closely with the office team to maintain seamless communication between operations and administration.

What We're Looking For



Previous experience in logistics, distribution, or event operations management

.

Proven leadership skills

- ability to manage and motivate a team.

Full UK Driving Licence

(essential).

Hands-on approach

- willing to work alongside the team on deliveries, setups, and warehouse operations.

Cost management experience

- ability to monitor expenses and make cost-effective decisions.

Time management and problem-solving skills

- able to prioritise tasks and adapt to challenges.

Strong organisational and communication skills

- able to liaise with both clients and internal teams effectively.

Attention to detail

- ensuring all equipment leaves the warehouse in top condition.

Flexibility in working hours

- occasional early starts, late finishes, and weekend work (compensated accordingly).

Preferred Skills (Not Essential but Beneficial)



HGV Licence

(advantageous but not required).

Forklift Truck Licence

Computer literacy

- ability to use stock management and scheduling software.
