The Team:
Events is an area of strategic importance to News UK and a key growth area. Working across all the brands within the News UK family, the events team currently deliver 200+ events per year, delivering growing revenue to our business and significant value in terms of customer and client engagement.
Your Role:
We are looking for a driven and strategic
Event Marketing & Communications Manager
to lead and deliver impactful marketing campaigns for our events portfolio. Reporting into the Event Marketing and Communications Lead, you'll own and execute multi-channel campaigns that drive brand awareness, audience acquisition, delegate registration and more across our B2C and B2B events.
This is a key role within the team and will suit someone with strong creative instincts, excellent stakeholder management skills and experience delivering results-driven marketing in a fast-paced environment.
Day to day you will:
Lead the development, delivery and optimisation of marketing strategies and campaigns across multiple events, with a focus on ticket sales, delegate acquisition and brand alignment
Oversee all campaign planning across email, digital, paid social, organic social, partnerships and PR
Own and manage the creation of email campaigns via Sailthru, including audience segmentation, scheduling, A/B testing and performance reporting
Work closely with our editorial, design, data, and commercial teams to build compelling campaigns that align with brand and revenue goals
Collaborate with content and production leads to ensure all marketing materials and messaging are consistent, on-brand and timely
Manage website updates and event microsite content in coordination with our external development team
Analyse campaign performance and make recommendations for optimisation and future planning
Maintain close relationships with key internal stakeholders, sponsors and external partners, representing the marketing function with confidence and clarity
Support and mentor junior team members where relevant (including managing freelancers).
What we are looking for from you:
Experience in a B2B/B2C event marketing environment
Proven experience developing and delivering end-to-end marketing campaigns across multiple channels
Confident with CRM tools, email marketing platforms (ideally Sailthru), and CMS systems
Excellent copywriting skills with a sharp eye for detail and tone
Experience working to targets and commercial goals
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
Strategic thinker with creative flair and analytical mindset
Experience working with tools such as Canva, PowerPoint, Excel, Google Suite
Comfortable working independently while collaborating across teams
