The Role

Positioned within Cunard\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99s PR and Events team, the Event Operations Manager will play a key role in delivering a successful inaugural alongside period and naming of our new ship, Queen Anne. This role is a fixed term contract for six months commencing November 2024 to support the inaugural celebrations of Queen Anne who will be entering service in May 2024.

This role is based on a 6 Month FTC commencing December 2023.

You will:

  • Devise and deliver the overall planning, management, and delivery of the inaugural events.
  • Ensure the project objectives are attained on time and within budget, leading on all operational elements and managing a wide-ranging team from across the business to deliver all aspects of the inaugural period (encompassing all events from transition in Italy and arrival in Southampton to the inaugural alongside celebrations and naming ceremony)
  • Shape, implement and manage agreed governance standards across the project lifecycle
  • Manage changes (to scope, time and budget) within agreed tolerances and escalate risks to the events director
  • Managing key stakeholder relationships including, but not limited to: Guest Experience, Product Development, Procurement, Port Operations, Security and IT
Our role categories range from CUK15 (entry level) to CUK1 (Brand President) so you can clearly see internal development opportunities. This role is a CUK07 and is offered on a full time 6 Month fixed term contract basis, with at least two days based in our Southampton office

About You

Fresh ideas and different perspectives are what excite us most and help us to succeed. Alongside bringing these to the role, you\xc3\xa2\xc2\x80\xc2\x99ll also need:
  • Previous marketing and communications experience in similar large scale hospitality events
  • Copywriting, budgeting and cost management experience
  • Experience of managing external creative agencies and VIP guest lists
  • Strong knowledge of operational functions and processes
  • Effective communication and managerial skills with the expertise to shape, define and manage a comprehensive project plan.
