third edition of our International Collective Capoeira Competition and Afro-Brazilian Fayre

Kingston University Town House

18th and 19th October 2025

The event attracts a wide audience -- from local residents and students to notable dignitaries including the
Mayor of Kingston

Consul General of Brazil

Kingston Council Officers
. It also welcomes international competitors from France, Spain, Germany, and across the UK, and is broadcast globally with commentary in Portuguese and English.
About the Role
We are seeking
enthusiastic and reliable Event Volunteers
to join our team for this exciting international cultural event. You'll play a key part in coordinating logistics, supporting attendees, and ensuring a memorable experience for all participants.
This is a
fully on-site role
for one week -- ideal for anyone looking to gain hands-on experience in
event management, cultural coordination, and community engagement
.
What You'll Do
Support event setup, coordination, and smooth operations before, during, and after the event.
Take part in
pre-event dry runs
starting from
13th October
.
Provide on-site support during event days (
18th-19th October, 9 AM-6 PM
).
Engage with visitors, participants, and community partners, ensuring everyone feels welcome.
Help manage logistics, registration, and attendee flow.
Assist in event documentation through photos, videos, or brief write-ups.
Collaborate with performers, vendors, and volunteers to create a vibrant atmosphere.
Contribute to post-event reports and feedback summaries
Desirable (Not Essential)
Previous experience in
event coordination or customer service
Basic skills in photography, videography, or social media
Based
in or near Kingston/London
(preferred, due to on-site attendance)
