Torr House is a family-run hotel and events venue in Dumfries, known for hosting weddings, celebrations, and a popular casual dining restaurant. We're looking for an enthusiastic and hands-on Events & Restaurant Manager to join our growing team.
About the Role
This is a varied and rewarding position overseeing both the events and restaurant sides of the business. You'll play a key role in driving growth, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
Main responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of events and weddings - from initial enquiry through to event delivery.
Manage restaurant front of house - greeting guests, taking orders, and leading the service team.
Drive sales and marketing activity for weddings, private events, and the restaurant (social media, enquiries, packages, etc).
Work closely with the kitchen and hotel management team to maintain high standards of service and presentation.
Take ownership of achieving agreed performance goals:
Minimum of 30 weddings per year (Year 1 target)
120+ weekly restaurant covers
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
Energetic, organised, and confident in leading a team.
Experienced in hospitality management or event coordination.
Passionate about great service and guest experience.
Able to balance creative ideas with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
