We are a busy, vibrant cafe by day and a lively events venue by night. We pride ourselves on our warm atmosphere, great service, and diverse range of community-focused and private events. We're looking for a motivated and autonomous Events & Business Development Manager to grow our events offering and elevate the venue's presence both on-site and online.
Role Overview
The Events & Business Development Manager will take ownership of generating new business, managing incoming event inquiries, delivering high-quality events, and leading all marketing activity for the cafe and venue. You'll work independently to secure new clients, drive footfall, build brand visibility, and create a strong pipeline of bookings.
When the cafe is exceptionally busy, you may also support the floor team to ensure smooth service.
Key Responsibilities
Event Sales & Business Development
Proactively identify and secure new clients and event opportunities.
Build strong relationships with local businesses, community groups, and key partners.
Develop packages, promotions, and creative ideas to maximise venue usage.
Manage and maintain an active pipeline of leads and conversions.
Marketing & Brand Growth
Lead all marketing activity for the cafe and events programme.
Plan, create, and schedule content for social media channels, with strong proficiency in Facebook and Instagram.
Develop print marketing materials such as posters, flyers, and menus.
Coordinate seasonal campaigns, event promotions, and community outreach.
Ensure brand consistency across all platforms and communications.
Analyse marketing performance and adjust strategies to maximise reach and engagement.
Event Planning & Delivery
Respond to event enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Coordinate event logistics, staffing needs, tech requirements, and vendor relationships.
Oversee event delivery on the day, ensuring a seamless experience for clients and guests.
Gather client feedback and use insights to refine and improve the events programme.
Venue & Operational Support
Collaborate with cafe and bar teams to ensure smooth preparation for all events.
Step in to support the cafe floor during peak times as needed.
Ensure the venue is presented at a high standard at all times.
Oversee event delivery on the day, ensuring the best experience for clients.
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in event management, marketing, business development and hospitality.
A self-starter who thrives when working independently and driving results.
Confident communicator with strong organisational and multitasking skills.
Proficient in Facebook and Instagram, with an eye for engaging content.
Comfortable creating print materials (basic design skills a plus).
Happy to work evenings and weekends when required.
Friendly, warm, and calm under pressure.
Passionate about hospitality and creating memorable experiences.
