As part of our growing team, you'll help deliver events that engage everyone from volunteers and funders to global scientists and policymakers with creativity, precision, and purpose.###

Can you do it?





As

Events Officer

, you'll report to the Head of Events and support the planning and delivery of a wide portfolio of events both in-person and online. You'll help us raise the profile of UK Biobank and enhance engagement across our diverse audiences.



You will be responsible for:Supporting the delivery of a range of events, including conferences, webinars, advisory boards, internal meetings, and external exhibitions. Coordinating logistics such as venue booking, catering, travel, registration, and technology setup. Managing attendee communication, supporting speakers and stakeholders before and during events. Liaising with external suppliers, including venues, digital platforms, and creative agencies. Supporting event evaluation through post-event feedback and analysis.



You'll also play a key role in major upcoming moments including our annual scientific conference (attended by over 1,000 researchers), participant engagement activities, and the flagship launch of our new Manchester headquarters in 2026.###

To thrive in this role, you'll bring:Experience supporting a wide range of events from start to finish. Experience in working with scientific or healthcare-related events. Strong organisational and multitasking skills with a keen eye for detail. Ability to stay calm under pressure and meet tight deadlines. A proactive, problem-solving mindset and collaborative attitude.



The working pattern is Monday to Friday, with hybrid working arrangements based in Greater Manchester (initially Stockport, moving to Manchester Science Park in 2026/27). National travel (e.g., to London) will be required as part of the role.
