If so, we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Events Sales Executive to join the Team on a fixed term period to cover maternity leave from 1st October 2025 to 30 June 2026. Please note that this appointment is only open to current Imperial employees, and current engaged agency workers and casuals.
What you would be doing

You will assist with increasing the revenue and profitability of the use of Imperial's space by actively promoting and selling the facilities and services to internal staff, corporate clients, organisations, schools, groups, and agents.
You will primarily focus on maintaining existing internal and external client relationships and returning business, as opposed to the development of new clients. As needed, you will research new business opportunities, using a variety of channels and methods including social media, networking designated target markets/segments.
Working closely with the Events Sales Manager, you will deliver a high quality of service to all clients, whether internal, from the Imperial community, or external. A high standard of relationship management is expected with a seamless handover of client bookings from Sales through to Operations is required. Reports will need to be prepared, including financial and KPI reporting to convert potential business and achieve targets.
Where group clients may be interested in accommodation, you will collaborate with the Commercial Summer Lettings Team to facilitate cross-selling.
You'll also collaborate with the Marketing Manager to support with all aspects of the marketing of promotional material, including brochures, adverts, newsletters, blogs, social media, and news features.
You'll support client engagement, drive repeat business and retention initiatives.
What we are looking for

Degree or equivalent, preferably sales, marketing, or business-related qualification
Demonstrable experience of commercial sales and marketing, ideally in a higher-education environment or hotel and events/conferencing venue
The ability to create, present and implement multi-projects and campaigns at any one time
Knowledge of data protection legislation including GDPR and PECR, and be able to ensure compliance within a sales and marketing context
Excellent IT skills: Office 365 (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Outlook and MS Teams
Adaptable to meet changing needs
An aptitude to generate new ideas and be able to develop them into successful initiatives, and see them through to their conclusion
Drive, motivation, enthusiasm, and dedication to the job in hand
A proactive self-starter who takes the initiative and who can prioritise and manage their own time with minimum supervision
The dexterity to manage multiple stakeholders and to deliver high standards of quality customer service
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and be confident with working and liaising with colleagues and senior staff
Be flexible and able to work longer hours at business-critical times and across all Imperial campuses which may include evenings and weekends, as and when required
