Job Description

We are currently recruiting Positive, Vibrant, Hardworking and Creative Individuals to join our Chester based Events, Decor and Production Company, contract, casual, part time/job share and full time positions are available.

The role will involve working within our professional events and decoration team where you'll be assisting with the preparation, set up, delivery and de-rig of a wide range of events and themed projects which will include but not be limited to - the preparation, rigging and installation of drapery, artificial foliage, decor, lighting displays and props, the creation and installation of event decor, seasonal decorations and scenic displays, the vast majority of which are designed and produced at our workshop just outside Chester, so a love of making is a must.

We are a small team and the willingness to get stuck in and assist with all aspects of our operation is essential, in addition to the creative side of the role the back of house preparation which includes loading and unloading the vans, prepping ladders, equipment and tools along with the general organisation and cleanliness of our workshop and units as required all form part of the job description.

This a rewarding and varied creative role for the right person, throughout the year there are chilled 9am till 5pm days in the workshop where we are creating and prepping (we regularly work on Halloween and Christmas decorations in the summer) which are followed by days of 5am starts or overnight installs, working in this industry as a seasonal installer is not for the faint hearted it's very hardwork and can be extremely demanding at the height of each season where unsociable hours and weekend working are essential to the role, we are looking for flexible and talented all rounders and creative decor lovers with a passion for events and the ability to handle a fast paced environment.

Do you fit the role

-Previous experience in event or seasonal decoration, theatrical/scenic design, an arts background, interior design or a related field.

-This is a fun role with a ton of job satisfaction but time sensitive so timekeeping and good punctuality are essential

-You must have a strong work ethic, be self motivated, have a can do attitude and be willing to go the extra mile to ensure a fantastic result

-Attention to detail, a good eye, passion for creativity and a sense of design are essential

-This is a physically demanding role where you must be able to lift at least 20 kilos without assistance and be on your feet for extended periods of time, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending and climbing up ladders will all be required.

-Must be comfortable using ladders and working at height (training will be provided)

-A positive attitude when it comes to working outside, exterior decorations are installed in all weather conditions and this can be challenging

-Ability to follow instruction, plans and established procedures to ensure our installations are displayed according to company guidelines and to the highest standard

-Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with other team members

-Available for flexible scheduling which will include late nights, early mornings and weekends

-Valid driving licence and reliable transportation, ability to drive a company van would be advantageous.

Salary - dependant on experience,

Start Date - Immediate, beginning with a temporary position, permanent opportunities would become available for the right candidates.
