About Us

Phoenix Pro AV is a leading event production company, delivering high-quality technical solutions across audio, video, lighting, and broadcast for a wide range of live events. Based in South East London, we work on everything from corporate conferences and brand activations to large-scale productions across the UK and Europe.

We are committed to nurturing talent and offering long-term development for individuals keen to specialise in their technical field. Whether your focus is audio engineering, live video systems, or multimedia production, Phoenix Pro AV offers the environment and projects to take your career to the next level.

The Role

We're looking for a skilled Events Technician (Audio and Video) to take a lead role in the setup, operation, and maintenance of AV systems for live events. You'll be hands-on in both the warehouse and onsite environments, preparing equipment, leading setups, and ensuring smooth operation of complex technical systems during shows. This is an ideal role for a technician ready to step into a more senior or lead-level position.

Key Responsibilities

On-Site Event Delivery

Lead or support the setup, operation, and de-rig of audio and video systems at live events. Operate Audio and Video systems for delivery of events. Act as a point of contact for AV related technical delivery on site. Ensure all equipment is correctly configured, tested, and show-ready. Deliver exceptional service to clients, troubleshoot live issues, and adapt to dynamic production needs. Liaise with other departments (lighting, staging, video, etc.) to ensure cohesive technical execution.

Technical Equipment Preparation

Prepare, test, and configure audio and video equipment for upcoming events. Manage and label cables, racks, and cases to ensure efficient setups and logistics. Perform functional checks, firmware updates, and minor maintenance on equipment.

Warehouse & Logistics

Assist with the organisation and dispatch of event kits from our warehouse. Support the accurate check-in and check-out of technical equipment using inventory software (Current RMS). Ensure the safe loading/unloading of vehicles and maintain an orderly work environment.

Maintenance & Quality Control

Conduct regular inspections and PAT testing of AV equipment. Coordinate external servicing and repairs when required. Maintain high standards of presentation and readiness for all event kit.

About You

We're seeking an enthusiastic and capable technician with a solid background in live event AV delivery. You'll be confident leading small teams on site or being part of that team, calm under pressure, and passionate about the latest technologies in sound and video production. While warehouse duties will form part of your work, this is first and foremost a client-facing, delivery-focused role.

Essential Skills & Experience

Solid hands-on experience with live event setups, particularly audio and video systems. Familiarity with digital mixing consoles, PA systems, projectors, LED walls, video switchers, playback systems, streaming, and broadcast workflows. Knowledge of Dante, NDI, or other AV-over-IP technologies. Knowledge of SDI and Broadcast workflows. Ability to work independently and lead small crews on site. Experience working in corporate or live entertainment environments. Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills under pressure. Full UK driving licence (van driving experience preferred). Good physical fitness - able to lift and move heavy equipment.

Desirable Skills

Familiarity with Current RMS or other inventory software. Proven experience working in the industry. Experience working in heritage or unusual venues. Basic rigging knowledge or certifications. First Aid at Work certification. Forklift licence or relevant equipment training.
