Job Description

Are you organised, approachable, and committed to maintaining high standards? We are looking for Exam Invigilators to ensure the smooth running of external examinations, combining excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and respect for exam regulations in a supportive and professional environment.

This position is based in the Teaching Support Services Department and answers to the Director of Data and Assessment. You will be responsible for conducting examination sessions with our exam candidates, ensuring compliance with the exam board regulations.

Requirements:



Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Moderate IT and administrative skills.

Ability to work as part of a team and on your own.

Excellent organisational skills.

Ability to stay calm, work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

A respect for the external exam process and a willingness to adhere to set rules and restrictions as detailed by an examining body.

An ability to deal with sensitive situations and maintain confidentiality

Undertake mandatory training including JCQ invigilator training upon commencement of the role.

Working Arrangements:



Casual contract on a zero hour basis Requirement to work at least once every three months as a minimum

Pay:



15.05 per hour

The post holder's responsibility will include promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons for whom s/he is responsible, or with whom s/ he comes into contact. The post holder will be required to adhere to and ensure compliance with the School's Child Protection Policy at all times. If, in the course of carrying out the duties of the post, the post holder becomes aware of any actual or potential risks to the safety or welfare of children in the School, s/he must report any concerns to the School's Designated Safeguarding Lead.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a self-declaration form in advance of attending an interview (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
