The role


We invite applications for the part-time role of Examinations Officer to work with a team of invigilators to ensure the smooth running of internal assessments and public examinations. The Examinations Officer works closely with the Deputy Head and Learning Enhancement Coordinator (SENDCO) to ensure that students have the best experience possible in their assessments, taking into account their individual learning needs and access requirements.

The role involves liaising with staff to plan and publish the timetables for internal and public examinations, managing a team of invigilators, including recruitment and onboarding, managing their hours and liaison with the Finance Department for payment.

The Examinations Officer is responsible for the important work of preparing the examination rooms and materials, arranging the safe storage of exam materials and papers and sending these to the exam boards. The Examinations Officer is also responsible for ensuring that IT arrangements are in place and the correct settings are available for pupils with SEND and access arrangements, in liaison with the IT support team.

The role also involves preparing students for examinations and supporting the Deputy Head with statistical analysis and uploading of exam data to GDST and other organisations. Post-examination support, such as reviews of marking or appeals etc. will also be the responsibility of the Examinations Officer.

The role is suitable for someone who enjoys working with young people and who is an able administrator, ideally with experience working in a similar role in a school setting.
