Job Summary


The Exams SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) plays a crucial role in ensuring that all students with special educational needs are supported effectively during examinations. This position involves coordinating the examination process, liaising with staff, students, and external bodies to ensure compliance with regulations and to provide an inclusive environment for all learners. The Exams SENCO will also be responsible for educating staff on best practices for supporting students with additional needs.

Duties



Coordinate the administration of examinations for students with special educational needs, ensuring all necessary adjustments are made. Liaise with teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement appropriate support strategies for students. Educate staff on the requirements and best practices for accommodating students with special educational needs during exams. Maintain accurate records of student assessments and support provided during examinations. Monitor and review the effectiveness of support strategies, making adjustments as necessary to enhance student performance. Ensure compliance with examination regulations and guidelines set by relevant authorities. Provide training and guidance to examination invigilators regarding the needs of students with special educational requirements.

Skills



Strong understanding of special educational needs legislation and best practices in education. Excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with a variety of stakeholders including educators, parents, and external agencies. Ability to educate and train staff on supporting students with additional needs. Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively within tight deadlines. Empathy and patience when working with students who have diverse learning requirements. Proficient in using educational software and tools related to student assessment and tracking.
Candidate must have one of the following qualifications

Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) issued by Patoss,
Dyslexia Guild or British Dyslexia Association;

Level 7 assessment qualification certificate;
HCPC registration showing the Unique Registration Number; SASC listing showing the APC code number and expiry date;
oPAPAA Graduates showing the certificate number;

CPT3A Certificate Holders showing the certificate
number;

ETAAC Certificate Holders showing the certificate

number; or

Patoss AAA Certificate Holders showing the certificate

number.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.50-15.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
