Make an impact from day one

You will hit the ground running - anticipating needs, taking initiative and driving efficiency, consistency and smoother processes. By ensuring the right actions happen at the right time, you will help strengthen performance across the Trust, enabling leaders to focus on strategy, free from unnecessary operational distractions, and concentrate their time and energy on the priorities that deliver measurable impact.

By championing agile, technology-enabled approaches and continuous improvement, you will enhance organisational effectiveness and free leaders to prioritise critical objectives. You will also inspire and guide colleagues, fostering a culture of empowerment, respect and care.

Key responsibilities

Serve as a trusted partner to executive leaders, connecting priorities, challenging established practices and ensuring alignment with Trust objectives. Drive operational excellence through streamlined workflows and timely reporting to enable informed decision-making. Champion innovation and digital fluency, finding opportunities to automate, standardise and improve processes. Manage complex executive priorities with precision, including diary co-ordination, reports, briefings and follow-up to ensure accountability. Represent the C-suite professionally, building strong relationships across the Trust and with external stakeholders. Mentor colleagues and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Essential requirements

Degree-level education or equivalent experience. Professional qualifications in business administration or project management advantageous. Proven experience providing executive support, with a strong understanding of governance, reporting and decision-making frameworks. Analytical skills, able to interpret data and provide actionable insights. High digital proficiency, including advanced Microsoft 365 and workflow/project management tools. Exceptional organisational skills - able to manage competing priorities calmly and efficiently. Strong written and verbal communication, adaptable to diverse audiences. Experience handling sensitive information with discretion and integrity. Ability to mentor and guide colleagues - line management experience desirable. Flexible, willing to travel across the Trust and attend occasional evening commitments. Knowledge of the education sector or multi-academy trust environment advantageous but not essential.
