POSITION SUMMARY




The Sales Executive role involves a combination of new business prospecting and account management. It is a Proactive Sales target oriented role reporting to the Sales Leader. Focused on new business development across multiple segments, primarily Corporate business and Groups & Events, managing relationships with MICE & Corporate TMC's and Travel Agencies. Working in conjunction with the sales team, whilst building a network of support through our Global Sales office (GSO) / National Sales Team (NST) to ensure sales account revenue targets are achieved through strategic account management. Actively upsells each business opportunity to maximize hotel revenue and increase the hotel's market share. Achieves personal and team related revenue goals. Responsible to support Marriott's Service and Relationship Strategy, driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience. Assists in leading all day-to-day activities related to sales with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of sales and hotel revenue objectives. CANDIDATE PROFILE




Education and Experience


High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in the sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related professional area. or

2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; no work experience required.

MICE Sales and Account Management experience preferred but not essential

Knowledge of Marriott sales systems, including PMS, Opera, Sales and Catering, Marsha and any other sales/event system applicable, would be an advantage

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES




Building Successful Relationships that Generate Sales Opportunities

Works collaboratively with off-property sales channels to ensure sales efforts are coordinated, complementary and not duplicative. Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc. Develops relationships within community to strengthen and expand customer base for sales opportunities.

Manages and develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Develops Group and Events segment to achieve and exceed hotel financial goals

In charge of delivering/exceeding hotel annual Groups and Events budget

Works collaboratively with Global Sales Organization and National Sales Team to ensure sales efforts are coordinated, complementary and not duplicative

Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, sales presentations, sales trips, etc.

Supports with Group and Events conversion

Manages and develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

Candidate has excellent negotiation skills and ability to influence others

Managing Sales Activities


Participates in sales calls with members of sales team to acquire new business and/or close on business.

Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence).

Assists in delivery and development of sales/marketing activities for the hotel

Assist Sales Leader in execution of the hotel Annual Sales Intensity Plan

Participates in sales calls with members of sales team to acquire and/or close new or existing business

Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence)

Understands and actively utilizes company marketing initiative/incentives to close business, achieve revenue objectives and establish or maintain loyalty

Maintains customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience and providing timely feedback

Works with customers to align preferences with brand needs and actively up-sells each business opportunity to maximize revenues and drive customer loyalty

Maintains positive relationships with clients to encourage repeat and recurring business

Leading and implementing Marriott Meetings and Groups initiatives,

Analyses and evaluates current client base in order to identify changes/trends in the hotel industry




Using Knowledge of Market Trends and Target Customer Information to Maximize Revenue


Identifies new business to achieve revenue goals

Understands the overall market - competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them

Closes the best opportunities based on market conditions and location needs

Gains understanding of the locations' primary target customers and service expectations; serves the customer by understanding their requirements, issues and concerns, to offer tailored solutions.




Providing Exceptional Customer Service


Services our customers to grow share of the account

Executes and supports the company's customer service standards

Provides excellent customer service consistent with the daily service basics of the company

Sets a positive example for guest relations

Interacts with customers to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels
