An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Exercise and Physical Activity Therapist to join our team. This is an innovative post supported by Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity and has funding for 18 months, with the aim to make it a substantive post. The successful candidate will take the lead in establishing and maintaining the service that seeks to improve the physical activity, exercise tolerance and engagement of children & young people with a haematological or oncological diagnosis.

The post holder will have a BSc in Physiology/Exercise and Sports Science/Sport and Exercise Therapy or equivalent.
The post holder will support the development and implementation of a working model that seeks to improve the physical activity, exercise tolerance and engagement of children & young people (C&YP) with a haematological or oncological diagnosis under the care of Birmingham Children's Hospital.
The post holder will manage an independent case load of patients referred directly for exercise and physical activity therapy.
The post holder will develop and deliver practical exercise sessions for inpatients and outpatients with single or groups of C&YP, face to face or virtually.
The post holder will implement initiatives to promote physical activity and be an advocate for change.
The post holder will help to record activity, outcomes and changes through service evaluation and audit.
