Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Tig Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of welding techniques and be able to work with various materials, particularly sheet metal. This role requires precision and attention to detail, as well as the ability to fabricate and assemble components according to specifications. A solid mechanical knowledge is essential for troubleshooting and ensuring high-quality welds.

Duties

Perform Tig welding on various materials, primarily sheet metal, ensuring high standards of quality and safety. Utilise stick welding techniques when required for specific projects. Fabricate and assemble metal components based on engineering drawings and specifications. Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete welding tasks. Conduct inspections of completed welds to ensure they meet required standards. Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all health and safety regulations. Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and resolve any issues that arise during the welding process. Apply basic maths skills for measurements and calculations necessary for precise fabrication.

Experience

Proven experience in welding, particularly Tig welding, is essential. Familiarity with stick welding techniques is advantageous. Experience working with sheet metal is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment and processes effectively. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to welding tasks. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately. A background in fabrication or assembly work will be beneficial.
