We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced automotive welder with additional mechanical expertise to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality welding tasks on automotive components, with a particular focus on stainless steel. This role requires an individual with a strong background in welding, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to producing superior workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform MIG, TIG, and ARC welding on automotive components, including stainless steel.
Fabricate and clear exhaust systems, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with specifications.
Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to accurately complete welding tasks.
Ensure all welding work meets industry standards and specifications.
Inspect and test welded surfaces and structures to identify flaws and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Collaborate with the engineering team to provide feedback on design improvements and welding techniques.
Maintain and clean welding equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance.
Adhere to health and safety regulations and best practices at all times.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality.
General experience in mechanical work is required for this role.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an automotive welder, with a focus on stainless steel welding.
Experience in working on both gas and electric vehicles.
Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and ARC welding techniques.
Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes and standards.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Excellent attention to detail and precision in welding tasks.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to welding.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Relevant welding certifications and qualifications would be preferred (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in welding other metals and materials used in automotive manufacturing.
Familiarity with robotic welding systems and automation processes.
Previous experience working in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.
Strong communication skills and the ability to provide constructive feedback.
Shifts:
6 days a week, 9am - 5:30pm Monday to Friday, and Saturday 8am - 2pm (open to discussion)
