We are an established SME Civil Engineering Contractor, based in North Lincolnshire. The Company's Chairman having more than 50 years' experience in the Construction Industry, and the Company itself having been established for more than 20 years has built trust and lasting relationships through the delivery of safe, innovative, and responsible solutions for infrastructure.

The Company operates across the UK and has been involved in a wide variety of Civil Engineering Contracts, including highways (bridges new and refurbished), rail (bridges, station developments), water treatment, water retaining structures and power generation plants fuelled by both traditional fossil fuels and renewable energy sources.

About the Role



We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to front our Commercial Department, this role playing a vital part from conception to conclusion, ensuring cost-effective project planning, accurate estimating and dynamic cost control, budgeting and financial reporting, contributing to the overall success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:



Cost Estimation:

Develop accurate cost estimates for projects estimating from first principles and production of tender prices through consultation with Operations Directors

Risk Identification and Management:

Identify and evaluate potential risks related to project costs and develop mitigation strategies. Identify and resolve cost-related risks and variations throughout the project lifecycle.

Bills of Quantities (BOQ):

Prepare detailed and itemized bills of quantities for construction projects

Tender Preparation:

Compile and prepare comprehensive tender documents, ensuring they meet client specifications and requirements.

Contract Administration:

Assist in the administration of contracts, including negotiating terms and managing contract changes and identification of any contractual risks.

Account Management:

Monitor and manage project budgets, and ensure that projects are completed within financial constraints including:- Preparation of the periodic applications for payment Preparation of Early Warning and Compensation Event Notifications and notifications of variations and claims for additional costs Preparation of contractual notices and contract /subcontract correspondence Valuation of variations and claims for additional costs. Review of programme information for the establishment of entitlement to extensions of time and changes to the date for completion Production of performance measurement information/reports Preparation of cost and cash-flow forecasts Producing progress and final account measures from drawings and surveys

Sub-Contractors:

Procurement of subcontractors including preparation and agreement of subcontract terms and conditions

Advice:

Advising the operations team of contractual and commercial matters Responsible for the Assistant and Trainee Quantity Surveyors

Qualifications and Experience:



A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Proven experience within the civil engineering construction industry. Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and costs. Excellent analytical and numerical skills. Proficiency in relevant industry software and Microsoft Office Suite. Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Familiar with NEC/ ICC / NR forms of contract Familiar with standard methods of measurement predominantly, HWMM Experience of working on schemes between 5 and 20 million is an advantage. A full UK Driving license is required for this role.
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package including;

Salary 60,000.00-80,000.00 dependent on experience
