Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef/Cook to join our caring supportive team.

Has experience cooking in a care setting or similar environment Understands specialist diets (e.g., soft foods, diabetic, low-salt) Is patient, reliable, and compassionate Works well independently and within a team Holds a Food Hygiene Certificate (or is willing to obtain one)

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and presentation standards Ensure all food is prepared fresh, maintaining quality and consistency Assist with menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients where appropriate Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with health and safety regulations Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management, completion of weekly ordering Collaborate with care staff to ensure smooth service delivery Adhere to food safety procedures, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices Serve dishes in a timely manner, ensuring customer satisfaction is met or exceeded

Experience

Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices Experience with meal preparation across various dietary requirements is advantageous Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
