Are you an enthusiastic and motivated dietitian looking to specialise in the area of Diabetes Prevention? We are a friendly, supportive dietetic service, who aim to focus on the development of your skills and confidence as an autonomous practitioner, whilst maintaining a good work/life balance.



An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the well-established dynamic Diabetes Prevention team within Hywel Dda, which holds a high profile both within the wider therapies team and across the Health Board. We fully support continuing professional development, appraisal and supervision and actively enable this with protected sessions in individualised job plans.



You will have the opportunity to be a valuable part of the diabetes prevention service health board wide.



This is a key role for a Di abetes Prevention Dietitian to support the implementation of the Diabetes Prevention Programme across the Hywel Dda locality. This role offers a unique opportunity for someone with a passion to improve health outcomes across Hywel Dda and a commitment to develop and learn.



If you already have an interest and experience in diabetes prevention , or are someone who is keen to use their existing clinical skills in this area, this role could be for you.



The successful applicant will be responsible for the delivery of Diabetes Prevention Dietetics: managing a varied and complex caseload, working as an integral member of the team, delegating to, and clinically supervising Dietitians, Health and Wellbeing Facilitators and students and working effectively as part of wider multidisciplinary teams.



In addition, you will:



Quality assure Diabetes Prevention Programme clinics and Foodwise for Life programme delivery; assessing competency of nutrition knowledge, behaviour change and facilitation skills of staff, to meet the minimum quality standards.



Complete relevant paperwork and communicates feedback to delivery staff, developing actions for improvement and standardisation across Hywel Dda UHB.



Participate in quality improvement, clinical audit and development work, associated with Diabetes Prevention / Nutrition and Dietetics



Act as an advocate for Diabetes Prevention / Nutrition and Dietetic



The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.



Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.



We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services.



We work in partnership with the three local authorities, as well as public, private and third sector colleagues, including our valued team of volunteers.



Our services are provided in:



Four main hospitals:

Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth; Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen; Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli; and Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest

Five community hospitals:

Amman Valley and Llandovery hospitals in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire hospitals in Pembrokeshire

Two integrated care centres:

Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings

47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 97 community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers

Numerous mental health and learning disabilities services
