This is a term time only position. Initially a fixed term until 20th July 2026. Working in our 2 year old room.
The five main areas of this role, detailed below, are:

3. To make strong attachments with the children in your care to keep them safe, understand them and tune into their needs

5. To keep meticulous records detailing planning, evidence of progress and attainment
General Duties
To provide outstanding standard of care and learning, supporting the personal, social and emotional development for children aged from 0 months to 4 years of age according to their individual needs
To have an excellent understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Early Years outcomes in order to be able to assess children accurately and plan exciting learning to help children make rapid progress
To ensure children have exciting learning opportunities and interactions
To have excellent interpersonal skills and confidence in order to communicate effectively with parents
To work flexibly as part of a team
To be committed to self-reflection, improvement and training
Responsible To: Manager, Deputy Managers and Room Leads
Main Responsibilities
Safeguard all children within the nursery through adhering to and implementing the Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy and Procedure.
Assess children's learning through observation and liaison with parents using Early Years Outcomes/ Development Matters.
Plan exciting learning opportunities based on children's assessments and next steps implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Create and maintain a safe and positive learning environment in partnership with the children.
To keep accurate records of achievement on your key children to inform planning and to share with parents.
Support children's learning based upon their interests and individual learning styles.
Work in partnership with parents to ensure children's needs are met.
Support all members of staff and engage in a good staff team and professional relationship.
Liaise with and support parents and other family members.
To attend all out of working hours activities, e.g. two training days a year, monthly staff meetings, parents events and open days.
To undergo continuous professional development, through the attendance of in-house and external training, including supervision and appraisals.
To be flexible within working practices of nursery. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the Nursery, e.g. preparation of snack meals, cleaning of equipment etc.
Work alongside the manager and staff team to ensure that the policies and procedures of the nursery are adhered to and implemented.
Maintain a healthy and safe environment at all times indoors and outdoors.
Recording accidents/incidents on the relevant forms.
Ensure each child or is collected by someone known to nursery following policy.
To respect the confidentiality of information received.
To ensure the consistent provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures, religious backgrounds and stages of development.
Give guidance and support to others and report any practice that is not good or outstanding.
Liaise with the Local Authority and others professionals associated with nursery.
To follow the correct medication procedure
To understand and deliver outstanding practice.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract
Pay: 12.51 per hour
Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
