Job Details
We have a new vacancy for an experienced herdsperson on a family farm between Bicester and Banbury in Oxfordshire.
The closed herd has 230 pedigree Jerseys calving AYR and producing an average of 7,000 litres. The cattle are housed all year round on cubicles with mattresses and fed a TMR diet with the milk sold on a premium contract. There has been significant investment over the last 8 years including new buildings with the last one finished in 2024 and a 24/24 parlour completed in 2022 including ADF, backing gate and auto shedding.
The main roles would be milking and the calves/youngstock husbandry but with other general farm work when required. Foot trimming and AI would be an advantage but not essential. Ideally we are wanting someone with a good level of experience, however, would be willing to train someone with less knowledge but keen.
In return for your effort, we can offer a competitive salary with regular time off, a nice 3-bedroom semi-detached house, in the village, free from rent and rates.
For an informal discussion please contact Adrian Edwards on 07824 480196.
*No overseas applicants without a work visa*
