We are looking for an experienced and caring phlebotomist to become a locum for our lovely phlebotomy team at Sussex Pathology (www.onedaytests.com) in our Newcastle upon Tyne clinic. We are offering phlebotomy services in our private walk-in clinics in multiple locations around UK including London (London City, Canary Wharf, London Victoria, Chiswick), Croydon, Brighton and Hove, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Guildford, Croydon, Cambridge, Crawley, Liverpool, Milton Keynes, Maidstone, Birmingham, Cardiff, Plymouth, Cheltenham, Chelmsford and Oxford. We are processing samples for our clients in our own state-of-the -art laboratory with results usually available the same or next day.
The clinic you will be covering is located in Glasgow. Your working hours will be between 8:00 and 14:30, Monday to Friday, except Bank Holidays . Hourly rate starts from 18, initial system's training will be paid as well.

Responsibilities and duties:
Perform venepuncture and capillary blood collection procedures from adults and children from 5 years old.
Experience and skills sufficient to ensure that clients are treated safely and courteously at all times and experience the minimum of distress or discomfort throughout the blood sample procedure.
Ensure accurate client records management and data entry.
Ensure that the samples are correctly labelled and put into the correct containers and otherwise properly treated so as to be suitable for the analysis requested.
Daily maintenance and procedures for phlebotomy areas.
Dispose of sharps, clinical and other waste appropriately, in accordance with Company's Infection Control Policy.
Work within the Company's Infection Control Policy, principles and guidance in maintaining good high standard of hand hygiene and wearing of protective clothing.
Maintain working stocks of sample vials and any equipment required for the job ensuring such stock is in date and suitable for use as required.
Work with the team managers in the allocation of the daily work list and communicating with clients in relation to appointments.
Booking of tests and taking payments via card-reader, providing information regarding the tests and panels to the clients.
Training of new staff if required.
Undertake other duties within the framework of the post.
Experience with butterfly and other needles.
Education and Experience
At least 12 months of full time phlebotomy experience post certificate/training.
Certificate of proof
Up to date vaccinations including Hep B
DBS within the last 3 years
IT skills
Qualifications and Skills:
To work unsupervised. You will be in charge of your own clinic, you will manage your bookings and deal with clients one to one as well as running stock control
Enable clients to make most effective use of resources within the service by ensuring they receive up-to-date information, responding to any questions constructively and taking payments
Experience of identifying quality issues and service improvement
Excellent Customer Service skills
To work as part of a team and ability to cope alone
The ability to receive and deal effectively with confidential and sensitive information
Physical skills (e.g. requirement for speed and accuracy, hand-eye co-ordination)
Able to work in a busy environment
Able to work under pressure
