Advanced Practitioner - MASH

We are thrilled to announce a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled Advanced Practitioner, Qualified Social Worker to join our Multi-agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) team within Wandsworth Council.

As a Advanced Practitioner, Social Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people in our community by leading and coordinating effective safeguarding assessments and interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the MASH team in conducting timely and thorough assessments of safeguarding concerns, utilizing your expertise to make evidence-based decisions and coordinate appropriate actions.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to social work colleagues, sharing your knowledge and experience to enhance practice and ensure the highest standards of safeguarding.
  • Collaborate with partner agencies, such as the police, health services, and education, to gather and share vital information, enabling a comprehensive understanding of risks and needs.
  • Chair and participate in multi-agency meetings, ensuring effective communication and joint decision-making to safeguard children and young people.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of the MASH team, including mentoring and supporting less experienced social workers.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Social Worker with current registration and a recognized social work qualification.
  • Extensive experience working within a MASH or safeguarding context, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively lead a team and coordinate complex assessments and interventions.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities, with a focus on evidence-based practice and risk assessment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for improving outcomes for children and young people.
