Are you a committed and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a genuine impact in a child's educational journey? We are currently seeking dedicated professionals to support pupils with

ASD

ADHD

, and other complex needs in

primary schools across Barnet

.

About the Role

You will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping to deliver a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Your ability to use

Makaton

and

PECS

effectively will be key in supporting pupils with communication difficulties. You'll be a vital part of the SEN team, working alongside experienced teachers and therapists to help every child access learning and thrive emotionally and socially.

Key Responsibilities

Provide individualised support to children with ASD and ADHD Use communication strategies such as Makaton and PECS effectively Foster a positive, engaging, and safe learning atmosphere Assist with implementing tailored education plans Work collaboratively with SENCOs, class teachers, and parents

Requirements

Previous experience as an SEN TA in a primary school setting Strong understanding of autism, ADHD, and communication challenges Confident in using Makaton and PECS Calm, patient, and empathetic approach Strong communication and teamwork skills A valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

Desirable Qualifications

Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification Additional training in SEND or behaviour support
