Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and ensuring smooth workflow
Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance monitoring
Prepare high-quality dishes in accordance with menu specifications and presentation standards
Coordinate food production to meet service times and maintain consistency across all dishes
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards within the kitchen
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies to ensure efficient stock management
Support in developing new menu items and culinary innovations to enhance customer experience
Maintain a positive team environment by fostering collaboration and effective communication
Skills
Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen or hospitality setting
Strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and lead by example
Solid understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Extensive restaurant experience with a focus on culinary excellence and customer satisfaction
Leadership qualities with the ability to organise tasks efficiently under pressure
Good knowledge of hospitality operations, including serving procedures and customer service principles
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required
