We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join our team for a new 3:1 support package. This role focuses on providing tailored care for an individual with complex needs, including challenges related to acquired brain injury, mental health conditions, and a history of aggression.
About the Role:
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping the individual manage their emotional and behavioural challenges. Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management, while promoting independence.
Providing reassurance and emotional support during moments of distress or anxiety, helping to reduce potential outbursts.
Implementing specific strategies to manage challenging behaviours, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
Engaging in therapeutic activities that align with the individual's interests, such as fishing and football, to encourage positive engagement and social interaction.
Collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to create an understanding environment where the individual feels secure and supported.
Key Requirements:
Previous experience in a support or care role, particularly with individuals facing mental health challenges and behavioural issues, is preferred.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with individuals experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties.
A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine commitment to providing emotional support and guidance.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Relevant training or qualifications in health and social care are advantageous but not essential.
