Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Window Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and a variety of related skills, enabling them to install, repair, and maintain windows and doors in residential and commercial properties. This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Duties

Install and replace windows, ensuring proper fitting and sealing to prevent leaks and drafts. Conduct assessments of existing window structures to determine necessary repairs or replacements. Utilise hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during installation processes. Read and interpret schematics and technical drawings to guide installation procedures. Perform masonry work as needed for window installations, including brickwork or stonework around frames. Carry out plastering tasks where required to finish around window installations. Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.

Requirements

Proven experience in window and door fitting or a related construction field is essential. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and equipment commonly used in the industry. Skills in carpentry, fabrication, construction painting, and masonry are highly desirable. Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics accurately. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues on-site effectively. Good physical fitness as the role may involve lifting heavy materials and working at heights.
