Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Window Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fitting windows and doors, ensuring that installations are completed to the highest standards. This role requires attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The Window Fitter will be responsible for measuring, cutting, and installing various types of windows, ensuring they meet safety regulations and client specifications.

Duties

Measure and assess window openings to determine the correct size and type of windows required. Cut and fabricate materials as necessary for window installation. Install windows using hand tools and power tools, ensuring a secure fit. Plumb and level windows to ensure proper alignment and functionality. Perform masonry or plaster work as needed around window frames for a finished appearance. Conduct quality checks on completed installations to ensure compliance with safety standards. Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters, to complete projects efficiently. Maintain a clean and organised work environment at all times.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Window Fitter or in a similar role within the construction industry. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to window fitting tasks. Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately. Skills in painting, masonry, plastering, building, or fabricating are highly desirable. Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on quality workmanship. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Good physical fitness as the role may require lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods. A valid driving licence is preferred but not essential.
