Job Description

Belle Vue Vets is a progressive, independent, and truly mixed practice based in the market town of Wigton in North Cumbria, with the beautiful fells and lakes of the Lake District National Park on our doorstep. We are seeking an enthusiastic export vet, with the necessary OV qualifications, to join our friendly and supportive 16-vet team, which includes several other OVs and multiple diploma/certificate holders.

The position is suitable for both full-time and part-time applicants. The role is primarily that of export certification for mainly meat and dairy products at several local businesses who export their quality produce Worldwide. There may be scope, in the future, for additional work in other roles within the practice such as TB testing and/or clinical work however this will depend on candidate suitability and experience. This is an additional position to complement our already busy OVs doing this work.

The successful applicant should have great attention to detail, be a great communicator who is passionate about all aspects of OV work and veterinary medicine and be someone who will fit well into our supportive and fun-loving work environment. There will be ample opportunity to explore specific areas of interest, with a generous CPD allowance and further qualifications strongly encouraged.

This role will have early morning starts and may involve some work on Saturdays, but there will be no on-call duties. At Belle Vue Vets we all value a good work life balance. As such we offer 24 days holiday plus bank holidays (or time off in lieu) pro rata.
