We have an exciting opportunity for a

Enhanced Brief Intervention Worker

to join our busy Barnet service to provide support as part of a pathway of care for available for alcohol related support in the city. Our new postholder will support people concerned about their own or their loved ones alcohol consumption levels.

Full Time, 37.5hrs per week

Salary

: 27,861.26 - 32,002.35 dependent on experience (based on full time hours, pro rata for part time)

Allowances:

2,195.72 Outer London Weighting (based on full time hours, pro rata for part time)

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
Responsibilities:

About the role:

Supporting service users from point of entry into the service and through their treatment/recovery journey Deliver specific interventions designed to reduce the harm caused by use of opiates via PODs or one to one working Ensure that service users receive a comprehensive, recovery-based detoxification service user plan; including support for preparation for detox and aftercare Work with other agencies and the community to build recovery capital for service users signposting to mutual aid and other networks Promote carer, service user and community involvement Provide advocacy for access to partnership services Work with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination

About you:

Experience of providing harm reduction advice in relation to alcohol disorders/abuse Knowledge and experience of MI and CBT and of utilising these in 1-2-1 and/or group settings with alcohol clients. Experience of completing assessments and being able to identify specific needs Knowledge of the issues experienced by people affected by alcohol abuse/disorders e.g stigma, poverty, discrimination
