Join Our Team at Slinfold C E Primary and Pre School
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and motivated 1:1 Support Assistant to join our dedicated team at Slinfold C E Primary and Pre School. This rewarding role includes providing 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs and working with small groups of children to help them achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will report directly to the Headteacher and work closely with class teachers and the SENCO.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support for a child with additional learning needs.
Work with small groups of children to support literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
Help deliver targeted interventions and personalised learning plans.
Support the emotional wellbeing and development of children in your care.
Adapt learning resources to suit individual and group needs.
Maintain open and effective communication with the Headteacher, SENCO, and class teachers.
Contribute to monitoring and reporting on pupil progress.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
Has experience working with children in a school or early years setting.
Understands the importance of inclusion and child-centred learning.
Is patient, adaptable, and able to build positive relationships with children.
Communicates clearly and works well as part of a team.
Is confident working under the direction of the Headteacher and other staff.
Has (or is willing to gain) relevant qualifications in supporting teaching and learning (e.g. Level 2 or 3).

Grade 4 point 5, Hourly Rate 13.47
Contract Type:
Permanent, Term time only - 38 weeks worked per year

Working with or caring for young people with various additional needs within a school based environment.
KNOWLEDGE AND
SKILLS
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to relate well to young people and adults.
Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these.
Working in partnership with staff to implement and model advice and recommendation.
To be able to use initiative in and outside of the classroom.
Basic understanding of child development and learning.
Understanding relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation, including safeguarding.
General understanding of national curriculum and other basic learning programmes/strategies
Effective use of ICT to support learning
At least GCSE Maths and English or equivalent qualifications A to C grade
Experience of working in a range of settings to support young people with SEND needs and deliver model recommendations and strategies
Experience with working with young people in the secondary/FE age phase
Experience of working with young people who require support with their emotional and behavioural regulation.
