Job Description

We have 2 part-time roles available. 28.5 hours per week across Monday - Friday and 22.5 hours per week, across Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, both including a 30 minute paid lunch break each day and 2 weeks off over Christmas/New Year. Please see the shift patterns listed below:

28.5 hours contract

(17,747.24 per annum +3% employer pension)

Monday: 7.30am - 1.00pm

Tuesday: 9.00am - 1.30pm

Wednesday: 7.30am - 4.30pm

Thursday: 9.00am - 1.30pm

Friday: 7.30am - 1.00pm

22.5 hours contract

(14,010.98 per annum +3% employer pension)

Monday: 9.00am - 6.00pm

Tuesday: 1.30pm - 6.00pm

Thursday: 1.30pm - 6.00pm

Friday: 1.00pm - 6.00pm



Purpose of the position



To work as a member of a team to provide at all times a safe, caring, stimulating environment for the children, in line with The Early Years Foundation Stage.

Key responsibilites



The duties outlined in this job description may be modified by the Headteacher, with your agreement, to reflect or anticipate changes in the job.

Work as a member of a team to provide at all times a safe, caring, stimulating environment for the children, in line with The Early Years Foundation Stage. Provide a wide variety of activities for the children that is suitable to their individual stages of development. Ensure that child records, such as Famly and individual folders are kept up to date. Build up relationships with the parents in order to reduce the division between home and nursery for the child. Ensure the provision of high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children regardless of any disabilities, family backgrounds or medical history. Ensure the maintenance of adequate standards of cleanliness and hygiene for the children attending the nursery. This includes changing nappies and toilet training. Undertake certain domestic jobs within the nursery, e.g. cleansing of equipment etc and the cleaning of rooms. Ensuring the nursery is kept clean and tidy. Record accidents/incidents on the correct forms. Assist in the provision of support and guidance to students on placement. Participate in staff training and assessments of progress. Ensure that all policies/procedures and risk assessments are read, understood and adhered to. Respect the confidentiality of all information received. Carry out any other duties requested by the Senior Leadership Team and Nursery Manager, that may reasonably be expected from a Nursery Practitioner. Uphold the Nursery standards at all times both within work hours and outside.

It is essential that the Candidate should be able to demonstrate the following criteria for the post within the context of the specific role duties and responsibilities. Candidates will only be shortlisted for interview if they can demonstrate on the application form that they meet all the essential requirements.

Qualifications



Maths and/or English Grades GCSE A-C or CSE level 1 NVQ Level 3 in Child Care Development or NNEB, DCE, DPP level 3 or other recognised Early Years qualification

Skills Required

Knowledge & Experience Required



Knowledge and Understanding of current principles and practices in childcare Understand the curriculum for the stage they are working within Have an awareness of Health & Safety requirements, first aid and emergency procedures At least two years' experience of working in a childcare environment (which may have been gained whilst studying for the qualification)
