EYFS SEND LSA

Permanent position Term -time only hours Based in a SEU (Special Education Unit) of a mainstream primary school Start: September 2025 Pay: 94 - 98 per day
4myschools are working with with a Felixstowe based primary school to recruit for their SEU. The school are looking for someone who is experienced with EYFS framework and/or SEND.

As the successfully appointed LSA, you will be involved in welcoming the children into school from the school bus and settling them into the day ahead. You will have a child centred approach to your teaching and support and be confident role-modelling language and sound formation for non-verbal children. You will need to have an understanding of behaviour as a form of communication and have a range of techniques and strategies to support and develop this.

This position is based within a large primary school's SEU (Special Education Unit). The SEU is based in a dedicated space that had been refurbished about a year ago. The children that attend the SEU are between 5-7 years old and all have EHCP's detailing their individual needs. A number of children need support with toileting and feeding, and communication as they have speech and language needs, including being non-verbal. The children attend school from the local and surrounding area and arrive at school via the school bus. The school is part of a large trust and staff benefit from the progressive CPD and development opportunities.

There are limited public transport links, so access to a car would be beneficial.

Requirements:

To be successfully appointed for this role you will need to:

Have grade C or4, or above, in GCSE English and Maths Be available to work full-time, term-time only Be reliable Have an Enhanced, Child workforce, Disclosure, that is on the update service; or be willing to pay for one. (Please note: This is an essential document to work in schools)
Desirable but not essential requirements:

Previous experience of working with children, EYFS framework and/or SEND
