Summary
An outstanding specialist school is seeking a compassionate and motivated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This long-term temporary position offers the chance to support children with a range of severe and profound learning difficulties, helping them develop key skills and confidence.
The Role
The successful candidate will provide individualised support to pupils with significant additional needs, including those with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and severe learning difficulties (SLD). Working closely with teachers, therapists and the school's SEND team, you will help deliver tailored learning programmes, assist with communication strategies and promote physical development using specialist equipment. The role includes supporting personal care needs sensitively and fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment where every child can make meaningful progress.
What We're Looking For
Applicants should ideally hold a relevant Childcare or EYFS qualification and have experience supporting children with SEND. This role is also ideal for individuals from care, health or social care backgrounds who are passionate about making a positive difference in a school setting. The ability to work collaboratively, show initiative, and demonstrate patience, empathy and enthusiasm is essential.

Hours
Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm. Both full-time and part-time applications are welcomed.

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
