Our vibrant primary school located in Islington is seeking a dedicated Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team for a full-time role starting in September for the duration of one academic year.

About the Role:

As an Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) in our Early Years setting. You will work closely with our experienced teaching staff, SEN coordinators, and other professionals to ensure that individualized support plans are implemented effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the class teacher to plan and deliver engaging and inclusive lessons, tailored to the needs of children with SEN.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students, helping them to access the curriculum and develop their skills.
  • Create and maintain a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that supports the social, emotional, and academic development of all children.
  • Foster positive relationships with parents/carers, keeping them informed of their child\'s progress and involving them in the learning process.
  • Contribute to the assessment and evaluation of students\' progress, providing feedback to the teaching team and participating in regular meetings and reviews.
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience working with children with SEN, preferably within an Early Years or primary school setting.
  • Knowledge of various SEN conditions, strategies, and interventions to support learning and development.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents/carers, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with diverse needs.
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to the varying demands of the role.
