We are seeking an experienced F5 Automation Engineer to join our team and drive the development, automation, and optimisation of F5 infrastructure across complex enterprise environments. This role is suited to someone who has deep, hands-on expertise in F5 technologies and a strong background in automation and DevOps tooling.

Key Responsibilities



Design, develop, and automate solutions for F5 LTM, AWAF/ASM, and APM modules within large-scale, high-availability environments. Build, maintain, and enhance F5 APIs, enabling integration with automation pipelines and infrastructure-as-code workflows. Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Terraform, and Ansible to provision and manage F5 configurations and policies. Contribute to the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins experience beneficial). Collaborate with Network, Security, and DevOps teams to ensure consistent configuration management, security posture, and performance optimisation. Provide expert-level troubleshooting and performance tuning across F5 environments. Document automation frameworks, configuration standards, and operational procedures.

Essential Skills & Experience



Proven hands-on experience in F5 development and automation within large, complex enterprise environments. Deep technical knowledge of F5 LTM, AWAF (Advanced WAF) / ASM, and APM modules. Strong experience building or integrating with F5 APIs. Proficient in Python scripting for network or infrastructure automation. Practical experience with Terraform and Ansible for Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management. Strong understanding of enterprise networking, load balancing, and application delivery concepts. Ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable



F5 Certified (e.g., 401/301A/303 certifications) or equivalent real-world experience. Experience with Git, version control workflows, and DevOps best practices. Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Familiarity with Jenkins pipelines or other CI/CD frameworks. Experience within large scale financial services organisations.

Your Base



Whilst DevNull Security are a remote-first company, our consulting team may be required to travel to a physical site 2-3 times per week (either Edinburgh, Birmingham, Sheffield, Manchester or London) subject to project/customer requirements.
