Bouygues Energies & Services currently has an exciting opportunity for a Fabric Craftsperson to join our Facilities team at the Royal Hospital for Children & Young People based in Little France, Edinburgh.

Key activities:

  • To plan, prioritise and delegate work in accordance with response and rectification times for all
trade staff and contract labour, ensuring that all associated paperwork is completed within the
required time scales in line with company procedures, involving the use of mobile digital
technology and IT systems as necessary * To plan, prioritise and delegate work ensuring that all associated paperwork is completed within

the required time scales in line with company procedures and Key Performance Indicators * Continually monitor conduct and performance standards of all personnel and specialist

subcontractors including the carrying out of annual staff appraisals and probationary reviews as
appropriate * Undertake training as required and qualify as the Authorised Person and/or Competent Person

for systems/plant as required to meet contract requirements * Required to participate in and provide guidance, training and mentoring to the apprentices
  • Provide cover for Supervisors and Technicians as required. To participate in an on-call rota,
to organise out-of-hours emergency work, as and when required and to participate in over-time
work as necessary

Skills, qualifications & experience:
  • Time served Carpenter - must be qualified to minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and able to carry out general fabric repairs
  • Will possess varied fabric skills, including fire door checks/repair, fire stopping repair and shower accessory replacements
  • Essential to have an understanding of Permit to Work and Safe Systems of Work
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety
  • Understanding of the Maximo CAFM system is desirable
